TAC’s work on youth, women, digital innovation and aquaculture sector transformation was recently featured by KNA/MyGov following the launch of YoungFish Kenya, Girls in Aquaculture Kenya and the AgriGrowth/eSamaki digital platform in Kisumu in March 2026.

This recognition matters because the conversation on Kenya’s fish deficit cannot stop at production alone. It must also include the people, systems, and infrastructure needed to grow the sector: young people entering aquaculture as a serious career path, women moving into stronger roles across the value chain, farmers accessing better information and markets, and digital tools helping bring visibility to a historically fragmented sector.

Through these initiatives, TAC is helping build the next generation of aquaculture participation from schools and training institutions to farmers, fisherfolk, processors, innovators and market actors.

This is part of a wider effort to move aquaculture from informal, isolated activity into a more coordinated, investable and inclusive blue economy growth sector.
